My name is Heidi Florek. I have three beautiful children and an amazing husband. They are my world! I love spending time with my family and friends. We enjoy being outdoors and traveling. I have a very big passion for food! I enjoy my daily exercise, walks and sports. Holidays are my favorite, and I love to celebrate any time I can!
I feel very fortunate to call teaching my career. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl and follow in my Grandma Lou’s footsteps. I Graduated from Weber State University in 2014 with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. My emphasis was in physical education and early childhood development. I received my ESL endorsement in 2017. I taught in the Ogden School District for 4 years, teaching both second and sixth grades.
I have created a curriculum and resources that are based on the Utah Kindergarten standards. I am very passionate about the importance of students being prepared to enter Kindergarten. My goal is for students to LOVE learning and feel confident in their skills and abilities. Each activity is designed to be integrated with the standards.
I understand every student learns differently. My goal is to provide my students with many different learning opportunities to keep them engaged and help them succeed. I believe movement is essential for learning, therefore, I emphasize hands on Kinesthetic movement inside and outside. Primarily, I will create a nurturing, fun, and safe learning environment, but most importantly I want everyone to have a happy, positive experience at Loubee’s preschool!
